Buddy Walk 2003

Although there was talk of rain for September 26th, we had another spectacular, sunny fall day to enjoy the Buddy Walk. We had a record attendance of nearly 575 walkers, and the amount raised grew to an astounding $57,000! The money raised enables us to provide new parent packs, programs, social events, books to schools, and expand our resource library.

This was the last year for Deb Gavette to chair the event. She has been dedicated to seeing her dream come to reality since the kick-off event in 1999. Northeast Indiana’s Buddy Walk has become a big event where friends, local schools, and other organizations come together in support of those who have Down Syndrome. We wish to recognize Deb for her vision to organize the Buddy Walk here, and to thank her for the energy and enthusiasm she has given to the planning of each one.
