Buddy Walk 1999 On
a rainy Saturday in September 1999, we held our first Buddy
Walk in Foster Park. About 150 supporters braved the downpours
to walk and raise $6,000. For the first year, we were amazed
by the support and turnout. Since this is our main fundraising
event, the money that was collected is used to help build
the dream we have of establishing an organization in northeast
Indiana to enhance the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome,
provide information and support to families and professionals,
and promote awareness and acceptance of individuals with
Down Syndrome within our community.
